About Us
We know the chaos of managing a troop because we've lived it.
Sites for Scouts was born from a simple frustration: managing a scout troop shouldn't require a spreadsheet for every task and a group text for every update.
As scout leaders ourselves, we spent countless hours tracking dues in Excel, managing trip signups through email chains, and answering the same “what's my scout's balance?” question every week. We knew there had to be a better way.
So we built one. Sites for Scouts is a purpose-built platform that handles the administrative burden of troop management, such as trip planning, scout account bookkeeping, member management, and communication, so you can focus on what you volunteered for: mentoring the next generation.

The Person Behind It
I’ve been a scout leader for 12 years. I’ve served as a Pack committee chair, a Troop committee chair, and for the last three years, our troop’s treasurer — so I’ve seen how a troop runs from just about every seat at the table.
Along the way I’ve run fundraisers of every kind and handled the logistics and finances for trips big and small — weekend campouts, Philmont, even the Bahamas. So the struggles are familiar.
The giant expeditions, the quick day trips, the never-ending day-to-day, and the parent texting “what’s my balance now?” for the third time this week — through all of it, one thing kept becoming clear: it was a mess. We were tracking everything on spreadsheets, sign-up sheets, and endless group texts, when there were so many opportunities to cut volunteer hours and raise satisfaction for everyone involved — parents and leaders alike. Troops deserved software built for the way scouting actually works, not a generic tool bent to fit.
So I built it. Every trip page, every scout ledger, and every calendar view was designed and coded by hand over years of nights and weekends, one feature at a time.
I did the building, but this was never a one-person vision. Nael helped get it off the ground in the earliest days. Rick has been a major part of it ever since — reviewing everything, catching what I missed, and pushing every detail until it was right. And Anna, Amanda, and Hector each helped bring this vision to life. Sites for Scouts exists because of that team.
Years later, that’s still the whole point: take the administrative weight off volunteer leaders — the trips, the bookkeeping, the calendar, the communication — so you can spend your time where it actually matters, with the scouts.
What Drives Us
Scout leaders are volunteers, not IT professionals. Every feature we build must be intuitive enough to use without a manual.
We're not a generic tool trying to fit scouting. Every feature is designed around how troops actually operate.
We handle the administrative burden so you can spend your time where it matters most, leading the scouts.
